While traditional escape rooms focus on unlocking a door, Lock Chicago offers unique “challenge room” experiences—meaning you’ll be working toward a specific goal or story-driven objective rather than simply escaping. How Many Rooms Are Available?
Lock Chicago currently offers three unique escape room experiences in Evanston: Kong, Matsuri, and Icarus. Each room features a different theme and objective, and can accommodate up to 10 players.

How Do You Clean Your Rooms?
We take cleanliness seriously at our escape room in Evanston on the North Shore. Each room is thoroughly disinfected after every group using anti-bacterial wipes and professional disinfectants.
To maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests, we also ask every group to wash their hands before starting their escape room experience—helping ensure a clean, comfortable setting for family fun, team building, and birthday parties.
Do you allow Food & Beverages?
Because our escape room in Evanston on the North Shore is located in a shared building, outside food and beverages are not permitted.
However, we’re just one block from Central Street, surrounded by great dining options—perfect for pairing your escape room experience with a meal for team building events, birthday parties, or family fun outings.
Some of our favorite nearby spots include Bluestone, La Comida, DeSalvo’s Pizza, and Ten Mile House.
Is There a Waiver?
Yes, all guests must sign our online waiver before participating in our games. Don't worry! Our games are very safe for all ages, it's just standard legal mumbo jumbo. You can view the waiver link and send it to your party members here:

Our escape room in Evanston on the North Shore is open:
Monday–Friday: 11:30 AM – 11:00 PM
Weekends: 10:30 AM – 10:00 PM
Available booking times may vary depending on the room and demand. We are also open on select Mondays during national holidays.

How Much Does it Cost?
Our escape room in Evanston on the North Shore is priced at $39.95 per person. All reservations must be made through our Reservations page, where you can view real-time availability, pricing, and totals before booking your escape room experience.

Does my 5 Year-Old Need a Ticket?
Children under the age of 5 can join our escape room in Evanston on the North Shore without a ticket when attending with their family or group.
All players age 5 and older must have their own ticket to participate in our escape room experiences. Our rooms are designed to be engaging for groups of all ages, making them a great option for family fun and birthday parties.

Do you Offer Food and Drinks?
We currently focus on delivering high-quality escape room experiences in Evanston on the North Shore and do not offer food or drinks on-site.
However, downtown Evanston has a wide variety of restaurants and cafes nearby—making it easy to pair your escape room visit with a meal for team building events, birthday parties, or family fun outings.

Do you Offer Gift Certificates?
Yes! Our escape room experiences in Evanston on the North Shore make the perfect gift for birthday parties, family fun, and team building rewards.
You can purchase a gift certificate through the “Book An Experience” button on our Give a Gift page—no need to select a date or time. The recipient will receive a code they can use at checkout to book their escape room experience whenever it’s most convenient.
You can also purchase a custom dollar amount, allowing them to choose their preferred room and time. Please note: include an additional ~$2 per person to cover service fees, or the recipient will pay that fee when booking.

What Happens if I Am Late?
To ensure a smooth experience for all guests at our escape room in Evanston on the North Shore, we maintain a strict arrival policy.
All players must arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled start time
If you arrive late, you may still enter up until your start time
Arrival after your start time may result in denied entry or reduced game time
If you do arrive late but are still admitted, we cannot guarantee the full 60-minute escape room experience, as other groups may be scheduled after you.
If you're visiting for a team building event, birthday party, or family fun outing, we strongly recommend arriving early—especially if you’re driving. While we offer free parking in front of our building, availability can vary depending on the time of day.
What do I Need to Know Before Arrival?

While traditional escape rooms focus on unlocking a door, Lock Chicago offers “challenge room” experiences—featuring unique goals, puzzles, and story-driven scenarios that vary from room to room. This creates a more dynamic and flexible escape room experience for team building, family fun, and birthday parties.
If a player needs to leave the room at any point during the game, they are free to do so.
Is There an Age Limit?
Our escape room in Evanston on the North Shore is recommended for players ages 12 and up, as the puzzles and challenges are designed to test problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Younger participants are still welcome and can contribute by discovering clues and recognizing patterns, making our experiences a great option for family fun and birthday parties.
